Reinstating a Deleted Consignment
The Reinstate function in Cario allows users to restore a consignment that was previously deleted, provided it has not been manifested.
This is useful when a consignment was deleted accidentally or needs to be recovered without recreating it from scratch.
When Can a Consignment Be Reinstated?
A consignment can be reinstated when:
- It was deleted from the Consignments → Maintain screen
- It has not been manifested
- The carrier has not received the booking
A consignment cannot be reinstated when:
- It was already manifested before deletion
- It has been finalised and processed by the carrier
Why Reinstate a Consignment?
Reinstating consignments is helpful when:
- A consignment was deleted by mistake
- The booking is required again
- You want to recover all shipment details, references, and dimensions
- Recreating the consignment manually would be time-consuming
Reinstating restores the consignment exactly as it was before deletion.
How to Reinstate a Deleted Consignment (Step-by-Step)
- Go to Consignments
- Select Reinstate
- Locate the deleted consignment
(use filters or search if required) - Click the reinstate icon next to the consignment

- A confirmation action will be applied
- A notification banner will appear confirming the consignment has been reinstated

Once reinstated, the consignment will return to an unmanifested (Created) status.
What Happens After Reinstatement?
After reinstating:
- The consignment becomes available in Consignments → Maintain
- All original shipment details are preserved
- The consignment can be updated, copied, or manifested
- No carrier booking is triggered automatically
Important Notes
- Reinstated consignments are restored as unmanifested
- Always review shipment details before manifesting
- Reinstatement does not notify carriers
- If changes are required, update the consignment before manifesting
